Mary Elizabeth Webb, 70, of McLeansboro, died at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, 1996, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. She was a secretary for the Hamilton County Home Extension.
She was born on September 14, 1926, in McLeansboro, a daughter of Will and Minnie (Metcalf) Stephens. On February 1, 1947, in Morganfield, Kentucky, she married Kermit M. Webb, who survives. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of McLeansboro. She was also a member of the McLeansboro Home Extension and Eastern Star Lodge #704.
The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 1996, at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeff Hurst officiated. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements were by Harre Funeral Home.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Paula Young and husband Bob of Carmi and Linda Gwaltney and husband Bill of Benton; a sister, Audrey Stephens Epperson of McLeansboro; a half-sister, Shirley Reyling Moss of McLeansboro; and four grandchildren, Paul Young of Evansville, Stephanie Young of Carmi, Bill Gwaltney, Jr. of Benton and Kent Gwaltney of Benton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
