Aaron C. Karcher, 13, of Dahlgren, died at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 1997, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital because of injuries sustained in a car accident.
He was born on Nov. 16, 1984, in Mt. Vernon, a son of Michael and Karen (Finch) Karcher. He attended Hamilton County Junior High School in McLeansboro, where he played basketball, was a Scholastic Bowl participant and a member of the Math Counts team. He was also a finalst in the National Spelling Bee the last two years. He was a member of and an altar boy at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis.
The funeral was at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Fr. Alan Ruppert officiated. Burial was in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery. Harre Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his parents; a brother Patrick, at home in Dahlgren; maternal grandparents, Leroy and Lottie Finch of McLeansboro, Cletus and Eunice Karcher of Dahlgren; and uncles, aunts and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the Aaron Karcher Memorial and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home.
