Evelyn B. Jackson, 81, of McLeansboro, died at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 1997, at her home. She was a housewife.
She was born on June 14, 1916, a daughter of Ezra and Evelyn (Wilson) Griffin, in Corning, Arkansas. She was married first to Jessie Dorney, who is now deceased, and later married Albert Jackson, who is also now deceased.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 1997, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery in St. Francisville, Illinois.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by four sons, Euguene Dorney and wife Rose Marie of Mt. Carmel, Dale Dorney and wife Irene of Keensburg, Illinois, Stanley R. Dorney and wife Mary of Mason, Illinois, John L. Dorney of McLeansboro; five daughters, Viola Irene Dorney of Carmi, Della Riley and husband Verl of McLeansboro, Rose Riley and husband Raymond of McLeansboro, Stella Brian and husband James of Sumner, Illinois, Alberta Brian and husband David of Sumner; two stepsons, Robert Jackson of Claremont, Illinois, and Leroy Jackson of Sumner; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
Besides her two husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents.
