Erma Emma Kuykendall, 95, of McLeansboro and formerly of Carmi, died at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, August 28, 1997, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was a homemaker.
She was born in Phillipstown, Illinois, on July 19, 1902, the daughter of the late Samuel Doss and Emma Nevada (Newell) Endicott. She married Henry Frank on October 24, 1926, and he died on November 15, 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carmi.
The funeral was at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 1997, at the Carmi First United Methodist Church. Burial was in Kuykendall Cemetery near Carmi. Kittinger Fair Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Kuykendall is survived by one son, Samuel Bert Kuykendall and wife Phyllis of McLeansboro; one granddaughter, Christine Joy Curdero of Philadelphia, Pennyslvania; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan Adam and Angela Curdeor of Philadelphia.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Dale and James Loren Endicott, and one sister, Leda Armstrong.
