Felsia Cook, 96, of McLeansboro, died at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 1997, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro. She was a housewife.
She was born on May 26, 1901, in Hamilton County, a daughter of George W. and Julia (Oglesby) Miller. On December 18, 1922, she married Virgil S. Cook, who died on November 25, 1980. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of McLeansboro.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 1997, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Gary Davenport officiated. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.
She is survived by a daughter, Dorothy M. Cox of McLeansboro; five grandchildren, Kenneth and Robert Cox, both of McLeansboro, Denise Barker of McLeansboro, Dennis Cook of Washington, Illinois, and Curtis Cook fo Eureka, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, son George Cook, son-in-law Willie Cox, three brothers, two sisters and a daughter-in-law Wanda Cook.
