Harold C. Bean, 67, of Mascoutah, and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 2:31 p.m., April 15, 1997, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
He was a retired musician.
He was born June 10, 1929, in Equality, the son of William Cletus and Rose Ellem (Parton) Bean.
Graveside services were held April 18, 1997, at Smith Cemetery near Dale, with the Rev. Gerald "Andy" May officiating. Military rites were provided by American Legion Post 106.
The Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro was in charge of local arrangements.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bean is survived by two sons, Harold Bean and Donald Bean and wife Tina, all of Mascoutah; two daughters Brenda Meinders and husband Chris of East Carondelet and Linda Dubin and husband Greg of Fayetteville; and eight grandchildren.
He was a Protestant and a U. S. Navy verteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
