Hilda Elizabeth Cravens

Hilda Elizabeth Cravens, 83, of Dahlgren, died at 2:35 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 1997, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, Mt. Vernon. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Cravens was born on January 14, 1914, in Belle Rive, a daughter of Nicholas and Ottilia (Miller) Ripplinger. On November 8, 1930, in McLeansboro, she married O. P. Cravens, who died on August 20, 1990. Mrs. Cravens was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Dahlgren.

The funeral was at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 1997, at St. John's Catholic Church in Dahlgren. The Revs. Alan Ruppert and Wilbert Iffert officiated. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery in Dahlgren. Arrangements were handled by Highey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.

Mrs. Cravens is survived by two daughters, Audrey Plante and husband Leo of Dahlgren and Yvonne Ray and husband Kenneth of Lynn Center, Illinois; three sons, Charles Cravens and wife Jean of Dover, Arkansas, Norman Cravens and wife Maxine of Dahlgren and Mickey Cravens and wife Carol of Russellville, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Tille Christ of Florissant, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Jeffery L. Cravens, two sisters, nine brothers and two half-brothers.
