Logan V. Irvin, 72, of McLeansboro, died at 6:35 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 1997, at his home. He was a retired machine operator, having worked at Pfizer Company in East St. Louis for 35 years.
He was born on March 8,1925, in Hamilton County, a son of Willis Riley and Hallie (Braden) Irvin. He married Doris J. Morris on October 7, 1950, and she survives. He was a member of the Church of God in McLeansboro. He also was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post #106 and VFW Post #1671, both of McLeansboro.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 1997, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Revs. Kerry Courtney and David Mays officiated. Burial was in Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton, Illinois with graveside rites by American Legion Post #106.
Besides his wife, Mr. Irvin is survived by two sons, John Irvin and wife Joyce of Visalia, California, and Shelton Irvin ans wife Cathy of McLeansboro; three daughters, Vicki Carter and husband Louie of Brighton, Illinois, Carmen Graulein and husband Richard of Lensburg, Illinois, and Shirley Shea and husband Larry of Harrisburg; two sisters, Chloe Little of Keysport, Illinois, and Mary Syzdek of Belleville; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two half-brothers.
