Nellie Corn, 101, of Macedonia, died at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 1997, at McLeansboro Health Care. She was a homemaker.

She was born on March 31, 1896, in Franklin County, a daughter of Harve and Elizabeth (Boyd) Smith. On March 6, 1916, she married Linzie Corn, husband of 67 years, who died in 1983. She was a member of Bethel Baptist near Akin at an early age and a member of the Better Homes Club for over 50 years.

The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 1997, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Ken Cook officiated. Burial was in Brady Cemetery near Akin.

Mrs. Corn is survived by one son, Glen Corn and wife Jethrie of Macedonia; one daughter, Helen Miller of Centreville, Michigan; one grandson, Billy Ray Adams; three granddaughters, Sally Reed, Denise Wiersma, and Glenda Corn; seven great-grandsons, all living in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Oscar, Leonard, Omer, and Sherman; and one sister, Lola Cohn.
