Oatis B. Hook, 92, of Dahlgren, died at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 1997, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was a retired farmer.
He was born on October, 23, 1904, a son of Jerome and Clara (Underwood) Hook, in Hamilton County. On December 26, 1931, he married Erma Millenbine in Dahlgren, and she survives. He was a member of Dahlgren Community Chapel Church.
The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 1997, at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren. The Rev. Jim Hefner officiated. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery in Dahlgren.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hook is survived by two sons, William B. Hook, Gary Hook and wife Janet, all of Dahlgren; one daughter, Sandra Murphy of Fairfield; eight grandchildren, William Dean Hook, Shari Adams, Jerry D. Hook, Eric and Marc Murphy, Lynette Hook, Michelle Kauble and Greg Hook; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters, grandchild Terry Murphy and a son-in-law Leon Murphy.
