Rose Ann Degenhart, 82, of Dahlgren, died at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 1997, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on August 3, 1914, in Vanderburg County, Indiana, a daughter of John W. and Philamena "Minnie" (Mueller) Ewald. She was a housewife. On January 30, 1935, in Dahlgren, she married Albert G. Degenhart, who survives. She was a member at St. John's Catholic Church in Dahlgren.
The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 1997, at St. John's Catholic Church in Dahlgren. Rev. Alan Ruppert officiated. Burial was in St. John's Cemetery.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, James P. Degenhart and wife Norma of Vandalia, Paul Degenhart and wife Mary Kay of Compoc, California, and John R. Degenhart and wife Theresa of Dahlgren; a daughter, Sister Mary Louise Degenhart of Fairview Heights; a brother, Alexander "Bud" Ewald of Belle Rive; three sisters, Appolonia Rawls of Dahlgren, Geraldine Hutchcraft of Belle Rive and Erma Ewald of Dahlgren; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, Judy Cameron, Kristina Garrison, Philip Degenhart, Jeremy Degenhart, and Darin Degenhart; and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Masi, Steven Masi, and Adam Cameron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
