William "Bill" Baker, 45, of Richview, Illinois, and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 1997, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a plant manager at Agripride F.S. at Woodlawn.
He was born on November 24, 1951, a son of Clyde M. and Joie (Greene) Baker. On December 9, 1983, in Wayne County, he married Sherry Keyser, who survives. He was a member of Sandoval Masonic Lodge, Centraila Elks Lodge, was a founding board member of the Illinois Wheat Association, a 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite and Ainad Temple. He was a member of Demaree United Methodist Church in Centralia.
The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 1997, at the Demaree United Methodist Church in Centraila. The Rev. Brad Henson officiated. Burial was in Brush Harbor Cemetery in McLeansboro. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro in association with the Irvin Funeral Home of Centraila was in charge of the arrangements.
Besides his wife, Mr. Baker is survived by his father, Clyde Baker of McLeansboro; one son, Stanley O'Brecht Jr. of Richview; one daughter, Angela Brow of Centraila; four brothers-in-law, Sam Keyser and Greg Keyser, both of Geff, Lary Keyser of Cisne and Rick Keyser of Golden Gate; and two grandchildren, Bryce and Travis Brow.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children Hospital or to the Demaree United Methodist Church.
