Austin Irvin, 81, of McLeansboro, died at 3:22 a.m. on Sunday, June 28, 1998, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. He was a retired farmer and retired supply personnel employee with the Chrysler Corporation Fenton, Missouri Plant.
He was born on August 23, 1916, in Hamilton County, a son of Lee and Flossie (Austin) Irvin. In 1938, he married Emma Dee Wheeler, who survives. He was a member of Dale Pentecost Church in Dale.
The funeral was at 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, July 1, 1998, at Dale Pentecost Church. The Rev. George Cox and Rev. Chris Clendenin officiated. Burial was in Hickory Hill Cemetery in Broughton. Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Irvin is survived by his wife Emma Dee Irvin of McLeansboro; one son, Denzil Edward Irvin and wife Janice of McLeansboro; one daughter, Deloris June Hutcheson and husband Marion of Henderson, Kentucky; one sister, Mildred McGill of McLeansboro; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
