Cecil C. Becker, 65, of 4640 Boaz Road, Karnak, Illinois, died on September 12, 1998.
He was born on September 21, 1932, in the Blairsville community, a son of Jacob and Rosa Becker. He was martied to Vema Lee (Myers) Becker for 44 years, and she survives. He was a member of Highway 45 Church of Christ and served in the Korean conflict. The funeral was on September 15, 1998 at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. The Rev. Jeff Stone officiated. Burial was in Massac Gardens in Metropolis. Mr. Becker is survived by his wife Verna Lee; one son, Stephen R. Becker; mother-in-law, Margaret Myers, all of Karnak; two brothers, Ralph C. Becker and wife Shirley of Lockport, Illinois, and Blairsville, James R. Becker and wife Lulla Bell of Blairsville; one sister, Opal Becker of Bedford Indiana; a sister-in-law, Barbara Becker of Marion; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William Becker of Corona, N.Y, and John Becker of Creal Springs, Illinois; two sisters, Minnie Orth of Zion, Illinois, and Mary Vincent of Eldorado; and three siblings in infancy, Roy, Arthur and Irene.
