Charles Richard Drake, Jr., 63, of McLeansboro, died at 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 1998, at his home.
He was born on August 28, 1934, in Chicago, a son of Charles Richard and Lois Alberta (Hultiquist) Drake. He was a retired funeral director. He served in the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1961.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 1998, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert White officiated. Burial was in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with graveside military rites. Masonic services were performed at 7:00 p.m. Friday by Polk Lodge #137 A.F. & A.M.
Mr. Drake is survived by two sons, Carl Drake of McLeansboro and Robert Alan Drake; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Catron and husband Jeff of Winson, North Carolina, and Suzanne Alice Drake; one brother, David W. Drake and wife Anita of Roscoe, Illinois; one sister, Carolyn Norton and husband William of Galena, Illinois; four grandchildren; two nephews; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
