Elwood H. Campbell, 85, of Omaha and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 1998, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. He was a retired house-painter.
He was born on July 5, 1913, in Hamilton County, a son of Henderson Clay and Laura Ann (Driskell) Campbell. He was a member of the Miracle Temple Revival Center near Eldorado.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Tom Flewellen officiated. Burial was in Mt. Oval Cemetery in Norris City.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his Wife Gloria (Withrow) Campbell of Omaha, three sons, Jesse Campbell and wife Carolyn of McLeansboro, Frank Campbell of Fairfield, Ralph Campbell and wife Doreen of Henderson Neveda; two stepsons, Gary Wood and wife Sharon of Poway, California; Gale Wood and wife Melva of Bluford one brother, Elmo Campbell of Eldorado; six grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter, and five sisters.
