Felta I. Carson, 90, of McLeansboro, died at 3:21 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 1998, at McLeansboro HealthCare Center. She was a housewife.
She was born on September 26, 1907, in Knox County, Missouri, a daughter of Lathie Edgar and Maggie M. (Pulse) Reed. She was married to Franklin Russell and later to Joseph C. Carson. She was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church in Eldorado.
The funeral was at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 1998, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Pastor Arnett Mathers officiated. Burial was in Sharon Cemetery in Mediapolis, Iowa, with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on February 14, 1998.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Pulse and wife Jo Ann of Dale, Harold F. Russell and wife Hiroka of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Floyd Russell of Box Springs, Georgia, John Russell of Sanford, North Carolina.; three daughters, Dorothy Richards and husband Warren of Longbeach, California, Mabel Hartscock and husband Wilbur of Wapello, Iowa, Virginia Cunningham of McLeansboro; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, two sons, two daughters, and a half-brother.
