George W. Fagan
Born February 24, 1914 - Died April 22, 1998

George W. Fagan, 84 of Waltonville, died at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 1998, at Crossroads Community Hospital. He was a retired inspector in the construction business.

He was born on February 22, 1914 in Jefferson County, a son of Joseph and Lola Fairchild Fagan. On October 7, 1933, in Mt Vernon, he married Lucille Hodge. He was in the Korean conflict and was a member of the VFW #9153.

There were graveside services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 1998, at Knob Prairie Cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Wilton officiated. Ery and Frick Funeral Home in Waltonville was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Fagan is survived by his companion, Lucille; two sons, Danny Joe Fagan and wife Teresa of Valley Center, California, and Eric Fagan of Salem; one daughter, Maxine Denham and husband Ted of Ewing; three grandchildren, Toni and husband Kirbie Metheney of McLeansboro, Terri and husband Mike Stirewalt of Dwight, Illinois, and Tracy Fletcher and husband Darren of Ina; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Elva Watson of Countryside Manor, Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
