Georgia Mae Hartley
Born February 22, 1921 - Died April 19, 1998

Georgia Mae Hartley, 77, of United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 1998, at Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. She was a retired nurse.

She was born on February 22, 1921, in Benton, a daughter of Ivor and Estelle (Parrish) Simms. In 1947, she married Loran Arthur Hartley Jr., who died in 1981. She was a member of the McLeansbroo First Baptist Church, a charter member of Hamilton Memorial Hospital Auxillary, former member of Junior Woman's Club of McLeansbroo and secretary of the former Coax CutUps CB Club in Hamilton County and a former member of Eastern Star.

The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 1998, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Patterson and Rev. John Grob will officiate. Burial will be in the Glenview Memorial Gardens near McLeansboro.

Mrs. Hartley is survived by one son, the Rev. Ted Hartley and wife Tammy of Charleston, Illinois; one grandson, Chris Hartley of Charleston; one brother, Richard Simms of LaPorte, Indiana.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
