Irma J. Callahan, 79, of McLeansboro, died at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 1998, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was a homemaker.
She was born on November 14, 1918, in Hamilton County, a daughter of Norman and Iva (Jenkins) Sidfrids. She was married to Roy E. Callahan, who died in 1972. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church near McLeansboro.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 1998, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro.
She is survived by a son, Troy Callahan and wife Vicki of McLeansboro; a daughter, Jo Ann Downen and husband Gary of Wayne City; two sisters, Ruby Callahan of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and Helen St. Clair of McLeansboro; six grandchildren, Sean, Brian, and Erin CAllahan, David adn Darrin Downen and Sherla Smith; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
