Milton Glen Hampton, 80, of Mill Shoals, died at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 1998, at Welborn Baptist Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was a retired farmer, oil field worker and worked at the former Combs Funeral Home in Wayne City.
He was born on August 17, 1918, in Wayne County, a son of Milton Gray and Ella (Clevenger) Hampton. On August 24, 1955, he married Hazel Dillman, who survives.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 1998 at Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City. The Rev. Wilford Musgrave officiated. Burial was in Dickeyville Cemetery in Wayne County.
Mr. Hampton is survived by his wife Hazel; one son, Ernie Hampton of Mill Shoals; two daughters Evalou Gammon and Glenda Isle, both of Fairfield; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
