Opal Harvel, 91, of McLeansboro, died at 6:05 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, 1998, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was a housewife.
She was born on May 16, 1907, in Edinburgh, Illinois, a daughter of William and Henrietta (Wells) Nave.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 1998, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery in McLeansboro.
Mrs. Harvel is survived by two sons, Bill Harvel of Decatur and Joe Harvel of Morrisonville, Illinois; two daughters, Mary Lou Vaglica and Anna Mae Copple, both of Decatur; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harry Harvel, parents and five sisters.
