Rev. Roy Hudson
Born October 15, 1913 - Died December 3, 1998

Rev. Roy Hudson, 85, of Broughton, died at 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 1998, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.

He was born on October 15, 1913, in Golden Gate, Illinois, a son of Jesse and Sarah "Sadie" (Ball) Hudson. On July 29, 1934, he married Bernice Dorcas Leet, who died on August 30, 1992. He was a part of the Methodist Conference for over 45 years, including Broughton and Dale Charge, Raleigh and Galatia Charge, Belmont and Keensburg Charge, Enfield and Wesley Chapel in Patoka, Vernon Hutsonville, Sandoval, Boulder, Phillipstown, Pinkstaff, Mt. Erie and Noble.

The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 7, 1998, at Campbell Funeral Chapel in Norris City. The Rev. Paul Brown officiated. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery at Golden Gate. Rev. Hudson is survived by two daughters, Imogene Delap and busband Bill of Broughton and Joyce Mitchell and husband Larry of Hilliard, Ohio; one son, Odis Hudson of Rock Falls, Illinois; two sisters, Wilma Chalcraft of Evansville, Indiana, and Mabel Shilling of Albion; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and special friend and caregiver, Ruth Abbott of Broughton.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
