Richard W. Jamerson, 49, of Effingham, and formerly of Springerton and Dahlgren areas, died at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 1998, at his home. He was produce manager at Martin IGA Store in Effingham.
He was born on November 22, 1948 in Mt. Vernon, a son of Aubrey and Wanda (Toombs) Jamerson. On November 23, 1966, he married donna Ballard, who survives. He wa a member of the First Baptist Church in Dahlgren.
His funeral was at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 1998, at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. The Rev. Roger Marshall officiated. Graveside services were held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the Old Springer Cemetery near Bungay.
Besides his wife, Mr. Jamerson is survived by his mother, Wanda Jamerson of Fairfield; two sons, Steven Jamerson of Rantoul and Greg Jamerson of Effingham; two brothers, Kenneth Jamerson of Fairfield and Tom Jamerson of Macedonia; three grandchildren, Kelsey, Hayley and Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his father.
