Clyde Emory Hunter, 66, of McLeansboro, died Wednesday, November 10, 1999, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. He had a heart condition.
He retired as a meat inspector for Illinois.
He was born October 30, 1933, in Hamilton County, a son of James Arthur and Alice (Gowdy) Hunter. He married Estell (Moles) Hunter on February 27, 1954.
He attended the First General Baptist Church. He coached summer softball and Little League programs in Hamilton County and had played softball for many years.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 1999, at Harre Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Cook, Rev. Gary Davenport, and Rev. Bille Duncan officiated. Burial was in Blooming Grove Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Surviving are his wife, Estell; a daughter, Debbie Johnson of McLeansboro; two granddaughters, Jamie and Kristie Johnson of McLeansboro; and two nieces and cousin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Arthur Hunter, Jr.
