Carlton L. Beachum, 83, of McLeansboro, died at 10:20 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 1999, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. He was a retired farmer and oil field worker.
He was born on November 10, 1915, in Hamilton County, a son of John and Nettie (Nierstheminer) Beachum. On Septemeber 24, 1947 he married Della Culpepper, who died on August 15, 1988.
He was a member of Braden Valley Baptist Church.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Rod Joplin officiated. Burial was in Braden Valley Cemetery near Dale.
Mr. Beachum is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Beachum of McLeansboro, and one brother Odus Beachun, of White Fish Bay, Wisconsin.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
