Clyde L. Fowler
Born April 24, 1913 - Died May 31, 1999

Clyde L. Fowler, 86, of Macedonia, died at 6:55 p.m. on Monday, May 31, 1999, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was a retired farmer, substitute rural mall carrier and retired salesman for Prairie Farms magazine.

He was born on April 24, 1913, in Jefferson County, to Joseph and Ruby (Duncan) Fowler. He married Ruth Marie Clark on December 21, 1932, and she survives. Mr. Fowler was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church near Ewin and attended the Corinth First United Methodist Church near Macedonia.

The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Revs. Charles Fowler and Robert Sefried officiated.

Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Delma Manis and husband Raymond of Ewing; a daughter-in-law, Betty Fowler of Griffith, Indiana, three brothers, Dan Fowler of Ina, Sam Fowler of Neoga, Illinois, Paul Fowler of Anchorage, Alaska: four sisters, Chloe Bevis of Mt. Vernon, Dorothy Webb of Ewing, Lois Glatz of Peoria and Nettle Adams of Imperial, Missouri; six grandchildren: seven great-grandchildren four stepgreatgrandchildren; and four stepgreatgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Delmar Clark Fowler, three brothers and two sisters.
