Evelyn Dee Biggerstaff Allen, 54, of Darien, Illinois, and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 4:25 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 1999, at her home. She was employed at GM Warehouse in Broadview, Illinois.
She was born on January 5, 1945, in Hamilton County, a daughter of James Arthur and Jennie Bell (Lasater) Biggerstaff. On November 20, 1964, in LaGrange, Illinois, she married Robert Bethel Allen, who survives. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Buddy Zork and the Rev. Carl Leek of ficiated. Burial was in Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton.
Besides her husband, she is sur vived by her mother, Jennie Biggerstaff of McLeansboro; a son, Robert Keith Allen and wife Heather of Downers Grove, Illinois; a daughter, Teresa Diane Rhoades and husband Adam of Darien; two grandchildren, Ryan and Amanda Brooke Rhoades, both of Darien; six brothers, Ralph, Manuel, Lowell and Dale Biggerstaff, all of McLeansboro, John Biggerstaff of Lyons, Illinois, Wesley Biggerstaff of Dingiss, W.Va.; seven sisters, Dorothy Russell and Ruth Parr, both of McLeansboro. Laura Riser of Monmouth, Illinois, Florene Dutton of Brookfield, Illinois, Alice McKinney of Aurora, Illinois, Nona Beckman of Belle Rive, Wanda Sledge of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her father, three brothers, Claude, Cecil and Donald Biggerstaff; and a sister, Mildred Biggerstaff.
