Fred Thomas Clevenger, 68, of McLeansboro, died at 9:55 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 1999, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. He was a tank truck driver for many years in the oilfield.

He was born on September 30, 1930, in Hamilton County, a son of Russell and Ermal (Rhupard) Clevenger. On February 23, 1957, in Harrisburg, he married Malinda Casteel.

The funeral was at 1 p.m. on Monday. February 15, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Abbott and Rev. Eric. Ragan officiated. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery near McLeansboro.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Randy Price, Russell Clevenger and wife Vicki, Richard Clevenger and wife Julie, Roger Clevenger and wife Pat, all of McLeansboro; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Teoria Varney and husband Curtis of McLeansboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a half-brother, Rex Dean Carter.
