Goldie M. Hamlin, 87, of Macedonia, died at 3:49 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 1999, at her residence east of Akin. She was an assembly line operartor for Zenith Products of Chicago for 16 years.

She was born on April 24, 1912, at Ben Parker Lake in Pulaski County, Kentucky, a daughter of William Marshall and Rebecca (Hanover) Hughes. She married Virgil Hamlin on September 7, 1941. She attended church in Watseka, Illinois, and loved to garden.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. on September 29, 1999, at Sheldon Township Cemetery in Sheldon, Illinois. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Hamlin is survived by one son, Cecil Hamlin and wife Gloria of Sheldon; five daughters, Wilma King of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Wanda Zito and husband Angel of Macedonia, Marie Willhelm of Watseka, Louella Howe and husband William of Benton, Helen Crawford of Pineknot, Kentucky; one brother, Clifton "Pete" Hughes of Indianapolis, Indiana; 34 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters, two sons, and two grandchildren.
