Joseph “Joe” Scott, 52, of McLeansboro died at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center. He was a construction worker.
He was born on April 3, 1946, in Hamilton County, a son of Harry J. and Thelma M. (Nipper) Scott. He was a member of McLeansboro Eagles Lodge and the Sons of the American Legion.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Sefried officiated. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery near McLeansboro.
He is survived by two daughter, Kim Hall and Sherri Smith, both of Tupelo, Mississippi; two brothers, Charles “Bub” Scott of Danvers, Illinois; Harry Dale Scott of McLeansboro; three sisters, Mary Stallings of McLeansboro, Leona Walters, Diane Price, both of Norris City; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Steve and Tim; and a sister, Rose Richardson.
