Lovina "Connie" Crisel-Nelson

Lovina "Connie" Crisel-Nelson, 69, of Granite City, Illinois, and formerly of the Dahlgren-Belle Rive area, died on Sunday, June 27, 1999, at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville. She was a retired licensed practical nurse.

She was born on January 27, 1930, in Princess, Kentucky, a daughter of Mose and Clara (Cifford) Messer. She was married to Homer Crisel, who preceded her in death, and later married Harry Nelson, who survives. She was a member of the Calvary Pentecostal Church.

The funeral was at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 30 , 1999, at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Collinsville. The Rev. Terry Russell officiated. Graveside services were at 12:30 p.m. and preceded burial at Opdyke Cemetery in Opdyke. Local arrangements were provided by Gholson Funeral Home of Dahlgren.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Nelson is survived by two sons, Paul Brown of Baltimore, Maryland, Jeffrey Crisel of Salisbury, North Carolina; two daughters, Paula Zavaia of Granite City, Sharon Young of Sparta; two sisters, Dolly Campbell and Linda Allen, both of Portsmouth, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.

Memorials may he made to Calvary Pentecostal Church in Collinsville.
