Mary Belle Farris

Mary Belle Farris, 80, of DeKalb, Illinois, died on Sunday, November 21, 1999, in Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb.

She was born on April 18, 1919 in McLeansboro, Illinois, and was the daughter of Franklin M. and Eliza (Clark) Ellett.

Mrs. Farris was married to the late Ted L. Farris on December 26, 1936 in McLeansboro, who preceded her in death on September 30, 1987. She worked for Brody Coat Factor. She also worked as a switch board operator for the telephone company, worked for N.I.U. as one of their house keepers. Mrs. Farris lived in the DeKalb community for most of her life. She was a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God of DeKalb.

Survivors include: sons, Dennis Farris, Thomas (Terri) Farris, grand children: Tina (Allen), Teddy (Cindy) Farris, Tammy Smith, Tim (Jeane) Farris, Mark (Mitzy) Farris, Angelique Farris, Tommy Farris, Andrea Farris, 5 great-grandchildren, sister: Emma Ellett.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 23, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church. Pastor Mike Massey officiated. Burial was in the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; her son, Teddy; granddaughter, Lisa; sister, Maggie; brothers, Francis, Ray, and Paul.
