Pearl J. Farris, 99, of McLeansboro, died at 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado. She was a housewife.
She was born on November 6, 1899, in Commerce, Missouri, a daughter of Thomas and Thursa (Samples) Jones. On July 7, 1921. in Elgin, Illinois, she married James Ervin Farris. She was a member of the McLeansboro American Legion Auxiliary.
The funeral was at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 18, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. C. Ernie Essary officiated. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery near McLeansboro.
She is survived by a daughter, Opal Mayberry of McLeansboro; seven grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren and 27 great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by ber husband, parents, son Wilbum Eugene Farris, one great-grandchild add one brother.
