Ruby F. Davis, 61, of McLeansboro, died at 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 1999, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. She worked as a nurse aide and waitress several years before retirement.
She was born on September 26, 1937, in Parmer City, Illinois, a daughter of Riley Herbert and Mona (Renollet) Montgomery. She was a member of the McLeansboro Church of Christ.
The funeral was at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Russell McNalty officiated. Burial was in Cub Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
She is survived by a son, Herbert "Herb" Davis and wife Karen of McLeansboro; two stepsons, Ron Davis and wife Ruby of Mt. Vernon, Jerry Davis and wife Joyce of New Minden, Illinois; five stepdaughters, Joyce Dillman and husband Charles of Mt. Vernon, Barbara McDaniel of Mt. Vernon, Donna Blankenship of Springfield, Illinois, Marsha Farthing and husband Paul of Smyrna, Tennessee, Jo Dudley and husband Vick of Murfreesboro, Tennesse; a brother, Paul Montgomery and wife Marilyn of Stewardson, Illinois; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth "Bud" Davis; her parents; a son, Chuck; a stepson, Kenneth; and three stepdaughters.
