Roy L. Buttry Sr., 77, of Troy, Illinois, and formerly of McLeansboro, died at 8:21 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 1999, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville. He was a retired truck driver with C.F. Consolidated Freightways and formerly with Swift and Company.
He married Mary V. McMahan, who survives. He was retired from Teamsters Local #600, was a member of Teamsters Retirees Club Local #50 and American Legion Post #106, and was a veteran of World War II.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home. The Rev. C. Ernie Essary officiated. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Roy Lee Buttry Jr. and wife Cindy of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two daughters, Deanna Schniers of Troy, Connie Obernuefemann and husband John of Troy; a stepdaughter, Laverne Reinheimer Eckels of Scottsdale, Arizonia; and two sisters, Dorothy Bailey of DuQuoin, Gladys Moore and husband James of Belleville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Charles E. Reinheimer.
