Sarah Emogene Campbell, 83, of McLeansboro, died at 11:00 am. on Sunday, August 22, 1999, at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro, She was a housewife and retired from Elder Manufacturing Company in McLeansboro.

She was born on May 20, 1916,in Hamilton County, a daughter of Jake and Effie (Hunt) Mezo. On November 11, 1931, in Carmi, she married Orville Bert Campbell. She was a member of Brush Harbor Baptist Church.

The funeral was August 27, 1999, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Gholson Funeral Home. The Rev. Billie Duncan will officiate. Bukjal will be in Brush Harbor Cemetery near MeLeanshoro.

She is survived by a son, William “Bill” Campbell and wife Verla of Hobe Sound, Florida; two sisters, Alma Cantrell and Juanita Harris, bothof Carmi; a sister-in-law, Dorothy F. Pierce of McLeansborO; two grandchildren, James Campbell and wife Selsy and Timothy Campbell, all of Hobe Sound; and one great-grandsni, William Campbell of Hobe Sound.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and two sisters.
