Zela L. Daily, 82, of Dahlgren, died at 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 1999, at McLeansboro HealthCare Center. She was a housewife.
She was born on March 18, 1917, in Hamilton County, a daughter of Frank and Cindrilla Catharine (Irwin) Kohl. On February 26, 1936, she married Walter M. Daily, who died in 1983. She was a member of Middle Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 1999, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. The Rev. Robert Sefried and Rev. Garlin Burns officiated. Burial was in Middle Creek Cemetery near McLeansboro.
She is survived by one son, Elmond Daily and wife Doris of Dahigren; a daughter, Eunice King and husband Howard of Annapolis, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Ronna Daily of Granite City, Illinois; 10 grandchilt dren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Willard and Gary Daily; three sisters, Ethel Brake, Flay Brake and Letha Cross; a daughter-in-law, Lii lian Daily; and one great-grandchild.
