Albert G. Degenhart, 88, of Dahlgren died Sunday, December 17, 2000, at the O’Fallen Healthcare Center.
He was born on May 13, 1912 in Hamilton County, the son of Philip and Christine (Birkner) Degenhart. He married Rose Ann Degenhart and she died in 1997.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and was a founding member of the Holy Name Society.
Surviving are a daughter, Sister Mary Louise Degenhart of St. Louis; three sons, James P. of Vandalia, Paul of Lompoc, California, and John R. of Dahlgren; five grandchildren, Judy Cameron, Kristina Garrison and Philip, Jeremy and Darin Degenhart; and great-grandchildren.
His wife, Rose Ann (Ewald), died in 1997.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2000 at St. John Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Lawler officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy Miller.
