Alma Mezo Cantrell, 99, of McLeansboro, died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She was a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church.
She was born on January 6, 1901 in Dale, a daughter of Jacob Clay and Effie May (Hunt) Mezo. She married William Henry Cantrell on March 12, 1921 in Hamilton County. He passed away on August 19, 1959.
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Davis of Norris City and Mae Allen of McLeansboro; a sister, Juanita Harris of Carmi; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services was at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2000 at Harre Funeral Home McLeansboro Chapel. Rev. Mark Lee officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Cantrell, in 1959, and by two sons, Donald and Jake.
