Clyde M. Baker, 84 of McLeansboro died at 3:35 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2000 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
He was born on April 10, 1916 in Hamilton County, Illinois, the son of William M. and Mary (Allen) Baker.
He married Joie Greene and she preceded him in death on May 1, 1990.
He was a retired farmer and former member of the Hamilton County Farm Bureau and attended Brush Harbor General Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daugher-in-law, Ms. Sherry Baker of Belleville, Illinois, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Thelma Baker of McLeansboro and two nieces, Mrs. Wilma Tolley of Evansville, Indiana and Mrs. Sue Berry of Henderson, Kentucky. He also has two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a son, William E. Baker, and one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2000 at Gholson Funeral Home. Rev. George Tuggle officiated. Burial was in Brush Harbor Cemetery near McLeansboro.
