Rev. Herbert R. Bennett
Born April 28, 1909 - Died July 6, 2000

Rev. Herbert R. Bennett, 91, of Mount Vernon, died on Thursday, July 6, 2000 at 8:20 p.m. at his home.

He was a Methodist Minister in the Southern Illinois Conference for 68 years.

He was born on April 28, 1909, in Macedonia, the son of William E. and Nona (Carlton) Bennett. He married Jennifer Bennett and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer of Mount Vernon; one daughter, Patricia Brangle and husband John of St. Louis, Missouri; and one son, John Bennett of Mount Vernon.

Graveside funeral services were held on Saturday, July 8, 2000 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro. There was no visitation.

He was preceded in death by parents, one infant brother, one brother, and one sister.
