Jane Barnett, 53, of Belle Rive, died on Saturday, September 2, 2000 at 3:25 a.m. at her home.

She was born December 4, 1946 in Hamilton County, Illinois, a daughter of Delmar and Ruby (DeWeese) Brummet. She married Donald D. Barnett, Sr. on August 19, 1966 and he survives.

Survivors include her husband, Donald D. Barnett, Sr. of Belle Rive; her son, Donald Barnett, Jr. and wife Betty of Harrisburg; two step-grandchildren, and one aunt, Helen Rayburn of Herrin; also several cousins survive.

Funeral services were held on Monday, September 4, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating, burial was in the Union Cemetery, near Dahlgren.

Mrs. Barnett was a member of the Sugar Camp Baptist Church, near Belle Rive.
