Joe C. Hodges, 80, of Macedonia died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at his home.
He had been a farmer and was a Protestant.
He was born on August 27, 1919 in Cherry Valley, Arkansas, a son of John Lafayette and Maggie (Sullivan) Hodges. On February 7, 1941, he married Alberta Jane (Breece) Hodges and she survives.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of American Legion Post 106.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Jane (Breece); two daughters, Linda P. Hodges and Lisa Webb, both of Macedonia; a son, Billie Ray of Gillette, Wyoming; two sisters, Hazel James of Paragould, Arkansas, and Lorene Cummins of Noblesville, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Rev. Bennie Ray Webb officiated. Burial was in the Hudson Cemetery, near McLeansboro, with graveside military rites by American Legion Post No. 106.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Joe Calvin Hodges, a son Bennie Hodges, a brother John Hodges, one sister, Etta Renner, and one great-grandchild.
