James Morton Black

James Morton Black, 84, a resident of Ironton, Missouri, died at his home on June 26, 2000.

He was born in Hamilton County on September 7, 1915, a son of Toras Morton and Sarah Margaret (Sexton) Black.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Bernice (Gallaher) Black of Ironton, Missouri; two daughters, Marilyn Joy of Portales, New Mexico and Barbara Salen of Pakistan; one son, James Black of Denton, Texas; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Louis Livington of Toledo; two step-sons, Irvin Shriver of St. Louis, Missouri and Dale Shriver of Fort Worth, Texas; one step-daughter, Clydia Powers of Lesterville, Missouri, and a host of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 29, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. at the Olive Branch Baptist Church in Wayne City. Rev. Ken Powers officiated. Burial was in the Olive Branch Cemetery.

Local arrangements were handled by Richardson Funeral Home in Wayne City.
