Mary M. Wheeler, 89, of Enfield died at 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.
She was a homemaker.
She was born on July 30, 1911 in Hamilton County, Illinois. She was the daughter of Willie and Ella (Pierce) Adams. She was first married to Delbert Ray and then later married to Orville Wheeler.
She was a member of Brush Harbor General Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Clark (husband Dwight) of McLeansboro and Barbara Collinson (husband Gordon) of the United Arab Emirates; a stepson, George West of Welton, Arizonia; two half sisters, Myrtle Carr and Nada Jacobs, both of McLeansboro; a half brother, Charles (wife Lovine) of McLeansboro; four grandchildren, Randy and Rick Clark, Vicky Trevarthan and Larry Murphy; two stepgrandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Delbert Ray and Orville Wheeler.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. October 19, 2000 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Rev. Leo Hall officiated. Burial was in Brush Harbor Cemetery.
