Olan E. Bullock, 71, of McLeansboro died Tuesday, August 29, 2000, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
He was a retired Heavy Equipment Owner and Operator.
He was born November 25, 1928 in Dahlgren, Illinois, a son of Oscar Earl and Lillie Iona (Dagg) Bullock. He married Janell Thomason Bullock on March 24, 1950 in Oceola, AK and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Janell Bullock of Dahlgren; two daughters, Michael Bullock and Sharon Casten and husband Kenneth, both of Dahlgren; three sons, Randy Bullock and wife Dianna and Jeff Bullock and wife Sandra, all of Dahlgren; 15 grandchildren, Lisa Thomason Guy, Mary Rebecca Thomason Milner, Candice Thomason, Amber Rene Rogers, Nathan Hardey, Miranda Bullock, Melanie Bullock, Melissa Bullock Wilkerson, Heather Bullock Painter, Crystal Danielle Bullock, Casey Bullock, Amy Bullock Draper, Adrian Bullock, Alexandra Bullock, Aaron Seth Bullock; six great-grandchildren, Dillon, Kelsey, Jacob, Hannah Guy, Lucas Jasman, and Madison Wilkerson; one brother, Ralph Bullock and wife Virginia of Wayne City, and one sister in law, Evelyn Bullock of McLeansboro.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 31, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Rev. Richard McCormick officiated. Burial was in the Olive Branch Cemetery, near Wayne City.
Mr. Bullock was the founder of Bullock and Sons Land Improvement Contractors.
He was a Protestant by faith. He also served in the United States Army during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Odell, and two grandsons.
