Victor Eugene Dorris, 72, of Harrisburg died Thursday, November 30, 2000, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
He had been an English teacher for McLeansboro High School and the Cain and Liberty school systems.
He was born February 9, 1928, in Saline County to the late Fred and Chloe (Wright) Dorris. He married Vicki (Upton) Dorris May 31, 1970, in McLeansboro. She survives.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Harrisburg, Teachers Union and had been the music director at First Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
He was the Brushy Township supervisor for 15 years.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki (Upton); a son, Brad Lee of Harrisburg; and a grandson, Dalton Dean Dorris.
Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2000 at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. Burial was in Brushy Cemetery near Galatia.
