Blanche E. Kennedy

Blanche E. Kennedy, 69, of East Alton died at 11:35 p.m. on July 14, 2001 at her residence.

She was born on December 4, 1931, in McLeansboro to Hal and Jewell (Parmley) Kinnear.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary Post in Wood River. She married Leslie Kennedy in October, 1968, in Alton. He died in 1972.

She is survived by three daughters, Charlotte and David Wiegand of East Alton, Bonnie and Darrol Gasawski of Troy, and Lisa dnd Wendell Hallstead of East Alton; five sons, Grady and Sandra Buttry of Tunas, Missour, James and Rita Buttry of East Alton, Burton L. Buttry of Wood River and Michael F. Kennedy of East Alton; 18 grandchildren; a sister, Rosalie and Cecil Morgan of Mechanicsburg; and three brothers, Joseph L. Kinnear of McLeansboro, George E. Kinnear of Thompsonville, and Gene Smith of Springfield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald D. Kinnear and Arthur Smith.

Commital Services were held on Wedneday, July 18, 2001 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto. Rev. Ivan Greuter officiated. Burial followed in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
