Charles Russell McConkey, 87, died Sunday, December 16, 2001, at his home.
He had been a ceramic tile layer. He was a member of Brick Layers & Allied Craft Workers Local 8 and Broughton Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Julia "Julie" Endicott of Broughton; a son, Charles Russell Jr. of Bertrand, Missouri; two sisters, Wanda Goodwin and Kathleen Wilson, both of Paris; three brothers, Kenneth of Redmon, Emery of Cohasset, Minnesota, and Harold of Rapid City, South Dakota; six grandchildren; a stepgrandson; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. His wife, Bertha A. (Moss), died in 1996.
Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Burial was in Gholson Cemetery near Broughton.
